How to delete the podcast app history

my podcast played episode history never changes, it is never updated, and I cannot delete it. How can I delete it? Why is not updating itself?

ios 14.5 podcast delete from library The podcast app in iOS 14.5 has me flummoxed. How do I delete podcasts from the app library? I do not wish to inadvertently download episodes. I could formerly just delete episodes to prevent unintentional downloading. Apple has added the "feature" of removing that capability of deleting individual episodes.

Is there any way to see my podcast history? In the last two months I've used my data really quickly and I don't think I've been listening more. My data period just start 5 days ago and I've eaten through 3GB.
