Windows 7 install on mid 2010 iMac

I installed a new SSD main drive; installing IOS 10.13 on it. I would like to restore my bootcamp partition with my Windows 7pro software. I have a USB 16Gb flashdrive formatted in MS-DOS FAT with the appropriate drivers.

When I insert the original Windows 7 installation DVD I get the message "Windows 10 is not supported on this Mac Please use a DVD or USB drive which contains Windows 7 or Windows 8."

That's as far as I get. Why does it think the DVD is Windows 10? Ideas?

iMac, iOS 10.1, High Sierra v 10.13.4

Are you planning to install a new copy of W7? On a 2010 Mac, the USB is necessary only after Windows is fully installed.

Do you have multiple version of Windows on the same DVD? If yes, using the product code on this disc DVD, you will need to download the ISO from Download Windows 7 Disc Images (ISO Files) and burn it to a physical DVD-R SL and try to install W7. Multi-version/multi-edition DVDs are problematic for newer version of BC Assistant.
