I want to use Siri to remind me to look at an on screen item, usually an email, later (“hey Siri, remind me of this at 6pm“). Sometimes it works but more often Siri responds with “ok, tell me what you want to be reminded about”. I can’t see any difference between the circumstances when it works and when it doesn’t. Sometimes it will work and then fail a minute later.
Is is there any known reason for this?
i use an iphone 6s with iOS 11.3.

You might try: “hey Siri, remind me of checking my e-mail messages at 6pm“

Specific message or specific thread or specific sender or specific subject...????
Your original way of telling Siri "remind me of this.." sounds too generic (in my opinion, but I might be wrong, and english is not my native language, so I can't be more helpful).
Give Siri various requests untill you find the right one.

Hum.. interesting.
I don't use Siri very frequently but, to my knowledge and my limited experience, it's a matter of "sharpening" your phrase for Siri, making as many attempts as you can. Sometimes a word small change can do the trick, and I obtained very good results.

Thanks for that but I think it will set up a reminder to look at my inbox. I want a reminder to look at a specific message. When it works I get a reminder with a link to the message.
