The posted image shows you are using WIFI.
I changed the communication link from WIFI to ethernet, which did it for me (as I wrote above).
However, I did not try to install the latest update yet. And it looks like I am going to wait and see.

Boot to your Recovery Drive.
The Recovery HD is installed when you install the OS. Restart and hold down the option/ alt key till you see the boot options.
just hold the power button until mac is restarting, and while it restart hold on option button
hi Im having the exact same problem here. can you tell me how you ended up fixing it? i tried restart and hold down the command+R but it keeps on coming back to this screen. thanks in advance. cheers.
Eau Rouge,
I keep having the problem, even after rebooting from the Recovery Drive, which brings me back to the MacOS Utilities.
After restarting my iMac I keep getting the message: "The installer resources were not found".
When running First Aid on Mackintosh HD, I get the following messages:
The First Aid process has failed ...
...
The volume Mackintosh HD could not be verified completely.
File Systems check exit code is 8.
Restoring the original state found as mounted.
Problem -69842 occurred while restoring the original mount state.
File system verify or repair failed.
Operation failed.
Hence, OSX 10.13.4 cannot be installed on this iMac???
Paul.
when you restart your Mac, does it start up ok.
just hold the option button while mac is restarting
Latest update installed, using the ethernet cable from to modem box to the iMac.
It took less than 20 minutes (I guess), without any problem.
Paul.
no picture attached, tell us more.
Nope. I'm unable to go to login screen. Every time I start, it shows me this screen after a while.
I haven't set up recovery drive on this machine yet :-(
Any other solution?
Thanks a lot. It worked. I can now start my machine to previous version of MacOS :-)
