I was trying to update my iMac from High Sierra 10.13.6 to the new Mojave version, but an error message came up when opening the download saying "You can't open the application 'Install macOS Mojave' because it may be damaged or incomplete." So, I checked the actual software update section on the App Store, but nothing came up for it. Has anyone else had this issue, or know what's going on?

I restarted it, and now it's letting me download Mojave from the App Store! Thank you so much, I'll reply if anything else weird happens.
Try making a bootable USB installer with the download— and try installing from that.
The download is sitting in your Applications folder.

I deleted the installer and tried reinstalling it on the App Store, but it still says "open" instead of "download". Clicking open does nothing, and I can't find anything that has to do with an installer for Mojave anywhere in my files. There's also nothing about Mojave in the updates section of the App Store. Any advice?
