Change DNS settings on iPad

I want to change my DNS server to the new 1.1.1.1 server on my iPad Pro. I was able to change to 1.1.1.1 on my iPhone 7 with no problem. However when I try to change it on the iPad it doesnt stay. I go to Configure DNS for my Wi-Fi Network, I select Manual, I add the 1.1.1.1 server, I delete old DNS server, click Save. When I am back on the main Wi-Fi network screen DNS still shows Automatic, when I go back in my settings are reverted back to the old settings. I have done a restart and a force restart of the iPad and each time the result is the same the DNS server doesn’t change, it always reverts back to the old settings. What is the problem? What else can I try?

iPad Pro Wi-Fi, iOS 11.3

Hi Laurie,

I understand that you're trying to change your DNS settings on your iPad Pro, but every time you change it, it later reverts to automatic DNS settings. I'm happy to provide some help for this issue.

Check out the Apple recommended response provided in the following Apple Support Communities thread which helped others with a similar issue:

Yes you can. Simply go to: General->Reset->Reset Network Settings and try again. It worked for me.
