Photos stuck on 'Checking library'

Hello all,

I opened my Photos the other and was told something along the lines of my photos couldn't open. Can't remember the exact verbiage. Did some research, tried repairing, still no dice. Created a new library, set it as system library. Still nothing. Deleted all the photos libraries (3 at this point just from testing), tried to create a new Photos library, set it as system, and tried to enable iCloud. Still nothing. Under Photos preferences, I get this:

Under System Preferences under iCloud, it gets stuck at 'Checking Library. I have to force quit System Preferences to get out:

Under Options, I have the same problem. Just sits on 'Calculating the size...'

I hope someone has been able to figure this out. All help is appreciated. Thank you guys 🙂

So, I updated to High Sierra last night (which has the new Photos version) that apparently fixed it. So, i'm guessing the fix is the Photos app needed to updated or reinstalled. Hope this helps others!

Log into iCloud.com/Photos and see what you have there? Does it work and is everything there? Is ICPL works ok on other Macs and IOS devices?

I've not seen this but would try quitting Photos, logging out of iCloud and restarting in safe mode which will clear caches and check some other system things then restart normally and log into iCloud - it that goes well then in Photos turn on ICPL

If logging into iCloud does not go well then I'd post in the iCloud on my Mac forum - more communities ==> iCloud ==> iCloud on my Mac
