Safari fails to download Reports from Rootsfinder.com

Rootsfinder.com is a family tree site. If I try to run report creation the result should be a file either pdf or docx which is automatically downloaded. This works correctly using Chrome or Firefox but fails on Safari with the following error User uploaded file

Is there a workaround in Safari to allow the download of files.

All the other functions of the Rootsfinder website work it's just auto download of reports. When I click Go to create a report in Chrome and Firefox the report is downloaded instantly to my downloads folder. When I click GO in Safari I get a new Tab with the error message as above. I note there are several other reports online re "safari webkitblobresource error 1" when I google this with no solution suggested the reports state that Safari does not support Blob. However searching this community doesn't return any support questions.

1. Backup, launch App Store and update macOS to the latest version.

2. If Safari is slow, stops responding, quits unexpectedly, or has other issues

Disable all extension and test.

3. Try Safari Technology Preview to download items from internet.

This is another self standing beta version of Safari.

4. Sometimes third party software can cause this kind of a problem.

Please run EtreCheck and post the report here.

https://etrecheck.com

Download it, open Downloads folder, click on it to open and select ”Open”.

Select a problem from the “Choose a problem” popup menu box, and then “Start EtreCheck” in the dialog.

Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard”, and then paste it when you reply.
