I can not pair my apple watch for the first time

Hello guys,

I have an apple watch brand new that i just bought last year and I'm trying to pair it with my iphone (IOS 11.2.6) and I can't do it.

My steps are the following:

1. On the iwatch:

- select the languaje: english

- choose region: united states

- It appear a message: 'Open Apple Watch app on your iPhone and tap start Pairing'

- I press the button start pairing......

2. On my iphone:

- Open the watch app

- Pair new watch

>> I align the iphone camera with the iwatch and then they paired.

On my iphone screen appear: "Update your Apple Watch. To finish pairing, your Apple Watch must be running the latest version on watchOS" > Update Now (I clic the button)

and appear the following:

watchOS 3.1.3

Your software is up to date.

waoh.... I can't do nothing !!! My iwatch have some kind of locked screen...I the only way to change that is unpairing my iphone and the cicle start over again.....

What could I resolve this issue ?? Help me please.

Regards,

ACP

Hi AmalioC,

I understand that you are trying to pair your Apple Watch Series 2 with your iPhone, and it asks you to update your Apple Watch, but then your Apple Watch tells you that it's up to date. I'm happy to provide some help for this issue.

I recommend going through the excellent troubleshooting steps provided by Jonathan UK in the Apple Support Communities thread below:

Hi

The latest software version for Apple Watch is currently watchOS 3.2.

The following steps may help (try again after each):

On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Usage > Software Update - delete any update file, if one is shown.

Delete any beta profiles that may be installed for your iPhone and/or Apple Watch and then restart both devices after doing so.

Restart both your iPhone and your Apple Watch (normally):

Unpair and re-pair your Apple Watch (which updates watchOS as part of the process):

His reply states that the latest version is watchOS 3.2, but since then watchOS 4 has come out. The steps that he's provided should still be helpful for your issue.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Cheers!
