How do I move the cursor through text on iPhone 8 Plus (IOS 11.3)?
On previous iPhones, if you turned the phone on it’s side while the keyboard was open, a lot of different options would appear that weren’t available in regular position (obviously because more space was available). One of these was the cursor arrows, which—like on a PC or Mac—allowed one to move the cursor to parts of the text that were no longer visible on the screen, for the purpose of editing, mostly. Now that these options were, for some reason, removed, if one enters text in a box, like the Google search box, for example, and then wishes to go back and add, remove or edit text that is no longer visible in the search box, instead of being able to simply use the arrow keys, one must use the ‘backspace’ key and delete most, or all of the text they have entered since the word or phrase they now wish to edit. It can be extremely frustrating when one has entered a significant amount of text. Even if not, at the very least it is still an unnecessary waste of one’s time. Is there any other way of doing this that I’m not aware of? Why would Apple make the ridiculous decision to do away with the expanded keyboard options, which used to become available when iPhone was turned on its side (like the calculator does)? Makes no sense.
