Reduced responsivenesss of iPad Pro touch screen

I have the original iPad Pro (now 2.5 years old). In the last 2 weeks, the tablet’s screen display has become much less responsive to touch. I have to press pretty hard, whether with my fingers or with a stylus.

I have rebooted a lot. I cleaned the screen with a dry cloth (the kind that comes with prescription eyeglasses). I installed iOS 11.3.

Have I reached the end-of-life on touch sensitivity? I use the iPad Pro 2-3 hours per day.

The hard reset DOES NOTHING to data or apps!

It is a low level iOS code reset procedure.

Do the hard reset of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons.

FYI,

You are confusing a simple Hard Reset with a much more complicated Erase All contents are Restore procedure which the Hard Reset is not.

Good Luck!

Hi mjlee!

I understand that your iPad Pro display is not as responsive to touch as it once was, and I'm happy to help. The Apple Support article on this topic suggests performing a hard reset to resolve this issue. If that doesn't help, you can use the link in the article to contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider.

Get help with the display on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Cheers!
