Mac Wake Up Screen Glitch

When I wake up my mac from sleep, the screen glitches and displays static, but it's only a flash (0.5 seconds). I've seen posts about this happening in macbook pro as well, after we've updated to High Sierra. I've seen examples about screens with weird colors, but in my case is just a greyish static. This lasts for only a few seconds.

What fixed this was resetting the PRAM or NVRAM by following these instructions.

Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

I had migrated my MacBook Air 13" to the new MacBookPro 15" and the screen was trying to be a MacBook Air.

Also, I had to search to figure out how to change the computer's name - it's under Sharing in System Preferences.

I have a similar issue but it only happens after logging in. I can run the computer in safe mode and I can run my windows 10 boot camp without an issue but after I type in my password and hit enter I get the static and it just remains on screen making my computer useless. It’s a 2015 12” MacBook with Mojave installed on it.

Brought it to Apple and despite diagnostics saying no hardware has failed, they want to charge me $475 to replace the logic board even though they don’t know what’s wrong with it. Beyond frustrated.

Hi,

I just received my new MacBook Pro yesterday and have already seen this screen 3 times, in less than 24 hours. Thinking about returning it. Otherwise the computer works perfectly but my last MacBook pro, (mid2014) just completely crashed. Starting to question the longevity of Mac products and wondering if I should get a dell instead. But can't deny that I love using Mac products and am not sure if I am ready to move to windows just yet.

Mine looks exactly like the image you posted. Just bought my MacBook Pro (no touch bar) on Cyber Monday 2018.

Add me to the queue for this issue...I just hope that's all it is, a minor glitch and nothing else.

But it sure is annoying after spending $2,000 on a top of the line computer and then this happens. I'm not exactly confident everything else is working or will be working fine now!

Also, add me to the list for the following issues for my brand new computer:

--image icon, like a big, blurry thumbnail, remaining on my screen for many minutes after clicking on an image...

--background image reverting to original image after restart

Let's see what other goodies I'll find over time!
