HP LaserJet P1006 2-sided printing

How can I get my Mac with High Sierra 10.13.4, to do 2-sided printing with a HP LaserJet P1006?

When I go to System Preferences, Printer/Scanners, and click on my printer the "Options" tab is not available.

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)

The Print dialog has an option to print odd pages first then even pages so you can manually collate them easily. I found this:

If you expand the first entry on the right it will show current settings. I found that the B/W settings had 2-sided turned OFF as did the Color. All my other settings show 2-sided turned ON. But I can't find any option in the Print dialog itself where you can en/disable 2-sided printing.

HP makes the drivers for that device, also as you have been advised ensure you have a duplex printer. If it's not then there is nothing you can do to make it an automatic duplex printing. Check with HP to see if it supports duplex printing, if it does then you have to look in the printer dialog box for customized settings. Unfortunately every printer is different so we cannot give you a write up on your specific device.
