Is there a music notes or music symbols font in MS Word?

It is the symbols for a given font or a font that would control that. Open Word, then open your document. Click on Insert>Symbol>Symbol Browser>and at the top of the box that opens you should see a dropdown. Click on the dropdown box and then click on Musical to see what symbols are showing for the font you currently have selected for your document:
