iCloud Drive selective sync

I'm a Dropbox 1 Tb customer. I'd like to change to iCloud Drive 2 Tb plan because I plan to use it at work too. In my personal computer I don't have a 2 Tb hard drive and neither in my work computer.

So my question is: ¿how can I handle it in iCloud Drive? In Dropbox there's something called "selective sync" where you select which folders to download to your computer hard drive.

Thank you very much...

iCloud is not an archival service, it is a syncing/sharing service, so anything that is in iCloud is going to be on your device or computer that is using that service.

On a Mac, you have the option to Optimize Storage for iCloud which will remove older documents from the Mac when storage is running low, but not sure if on your iCloud Preferences in iCloud for Windows have that same option.

The Optimize Storage option on the Mac is in the same place where you turn on and select the Desktop & Documents option for iCloud Drive.
