Why, oh why, was it necessary to add the extra step to delete a message? I liked being able to swipe right, then delete. Now, I have to swipe right, choose delete, then tell IOS that “I’m sure.”
Don’t make it harder with new software releases.

It was probably added because of the number of people who were upset when they deleted entire conversations accidentally. I see several of such threads a day.

I realize you’re probably right, but you could already open a message thread and delete individual texts. That’s what we were used to. Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, but this new, extra step prevents people from accidentally deleting an entire thread when they perhaps only meant to delete one message.
