how to save as tab delimited file from numbers?

Is there anyway to directly save a file as a tab delimited from numbers? I have found other suggestions of copying and pasting data from sheets to a text editor then doing things to that and saving it.

I need a 1 step, fast and accurate process. MS Excel does a file save as, google sheets has a download as. How can I do this from Macs spreadsheet software without having to go out and do a bunch of other steps?

Export to tab separated text is not a supported feature in any version of Numbers.

If this is crucial to your work, you might try Excel for Mac (part of MS Office for Mac), or LibreOffice.

Or you could use the Copy-Paste-save route through TextEdit.

Select all cells of the table.

Copy,

Move to TextEdit

Paste

Save

Took about 20 seconds, using a small table and accepting the default filename and extension provided by TextEdit.

Text edit will automatically apply the .txt extension to the filename, but you can specify whatever extension you need.
