When I close my mac it logs me out

Ever since I updated to the newest IOS, whenever I stop using my mac book pro and shut the lid and walk away for a moment it logs me out. I have checked my system preferences and I have not selected for it to log me out when not in use, yet my mac book pro does it anyways. Then when I try to log in often times I have to turn off my mac because it freezes trying to load back up. This all began to happen after I updated the ios the other day.

Any thoughts? I am frustrated.

iOS (formerly iPhone OS) is a mobile operating system .

You are referring to the macOS (formerly OS X)

If your preferences are set correctly and you still have the issue then I would try reinsatilling the macOS on top of your existing macOS and see if it sorts the problem.

You can do this from Recovery http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
