Hi again,
Well actually for me I think I found the problem. Well atleast I think I did, because after that I was able to install the update. I found that I wasn’t able to install it while my ssd was encrypting. It was a pretty long process so I think that may be the reason why many people are having this problem. I don’t know why this is happening or is it related but for anyone experiencing this problem I would recommend waiting for the ssd to finish encrypting and then try again. Hope it will help someone
Try resetting NVRAM:
How to reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support
If that doesn't work boot into Recovery Mode and run Disk Utility > First Aid
About macOS Recovery - Apple Support
If your Mac is new and your purchased from Apple then you have 14 days to return it for a full refund.
Hello there! My girlfriend has the same problem right now, but she has a Macbook Pro 2013.
Anyway, we had the same problem, to bring back to your desktop turn off the macbook, and then you will be strat it again press "option" to turn the Toms Load screen. After you will have two toms, Macintosh HD, and macOS installer.
Choose the first one, and that it. But now I don't figure out what to do with UpDater next and am I need to start MacBook all the time like this, anyway, your data will be saved.
(ps sorry for English miss shots if any, from Russia with love)
Hi,
As you said, it would appear the Mac was unable to complete the update until the Hard-drive had finished encrypting.
You are able to check how long it will take under security and privacy in System Preferences, or you can choose not to encrypt the Hard-drive when you factory reset.
Regards,
Could you tell me how your situation resolve? Did you get a new mac? I’m wondering because I’m having the save problem...
Thanks,
But unfortunately, neither option worked for me.

Hi,
I could not solve the problem myself.
Neither of the above options worked for me so I ended up taking it back to the istore to be "repaired".
When I get it back, I will update the post.

Hi, did you just wait or did you du anything else to fix the issue before you could install the update?
I just waited. You can see how long is remaining under the security and privacy in system preferences. It took me around 8 hours.
Thanks, I didn’t have the patience to wait 😊 I formatted the partition and reinstalled the OS - a 30 minute job.
I had some serious booting issues after removing Bootcamp partition, and after reinstall I had the same problem.
Thanks for the solution!
So
Everything help me
