Since installing High Sierra, when I try to launch Finale I get: "unhandled exception caught". if I click on "OK" Finale doesn't start. This is the 2nd big problem I've had since installing H.S. I'm beginning to regret it.

HS is extremely stable, millions of people have installed it with no issues, including myself. With EVERY new release of any OS, application, utility etc there are ALWAYS going to be some that have a problem. That being said, I'd like to help you.
If you haven't already, have you reset the NVRAM per How to reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support
Also, have you checked with the developer of the app you having issues with to see if they have an update or are aware of any issues with their app?
Why isn't your e-mail working?

Just got done with Spectrum chat. They said: "We have just received an update regarding the POP3 email server having issues connecting to the Mail. That's the reason you are unable to receive the emails on Apple Mail." I haven't heard back from Finale Print Music yet. Tried copying report again: SAME THING! I give up. I had the same problem with an EntreCheck report before. Thanks for your advice.
I reset NVRAM - no change. I emailed the developer of Finale from their website but since my email is also not working I haven't heard back from them.

It looked good - paragraphs etc. - until I hit :"Reply".I used the "Copy" in the EntreCheck toolbar.
I chatted with Spectrum about the email problem. He said it was an "Ongoing" issue.???
I can't log in to online mail account or get mail on my iMac.
Your report is unformatted and therefore unreadable. Please re-run the report and copy and paste the entire report using the reports functionality. If you have trouble with that please open the report and:
Restart in Safe Mode and then restart normally and re-test.
Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support
Did that. Same thing happened.
