Install High Sierra "application damaged"

Running tacos El Capitan 10.11.6 on Mac Air late 2010 and get error message downloading High Sierra saying application is damaged and can't be used to install. Anyone else run into this or offer any solutions? Thx!

Delete the installer, reboot your Mac, then re-download it.

The copy downloaded on your machine is old and was signed with a certificate that is no longer valid.
