Volume Control

I’m feeling silly about asking this. Can you have a lower volume on text messages than a volume on the phone ringer? When I had an android phone I was able to change volume controls based on what I wanted. If I wanted a louder volume on my rings & a lower volume on my text messages, I could change that. I’m not finding a setting on the iPhone do that. Suggestions? Thank you!
