I have a 500 GB hard drive on a MBP 2016, to free space I uploaded all my documents to my 2TB iCloud drive and I got around 250GB free space on my local hard drive, but now the only free space is 25GB so how to free more space ? is there a way to delete the iCloud local cache or limit its size ?
In storage management I see almost 90% of space is taken by iCloud Content.

No.
Your Mac always keeps a mirrored copy of your iCloud Drive folder locally,
iCloud drive is a syncing service, not a hard drive in the sky.
If you have Sierra or better, you can optimize and keep some files off device, but it does not allow you to control this.

Try setting the caching to Only Shared Content to see if that helps.You can always change it back if you aren't happy with the results.

Thanks allot for your replay, ok so what about caching content in sharing, it have an option to set cache size that includes iCloud content, won't that have this control ? if not why Apple put iCloud content there as an option ?

Not sure where you see these options.
In the sharing preferences window
But this option is disabled on my machine so I don't know if its related ?
Likely due to how little storage space you have available.
I have not seen this setting before, but it appears to consume storage space over and above the mirroring for iCloud Drive I referred to earlier.
