I have attempted to download my lloyds bank statement through my mac book air this morning. The document opens within preview in chinese/mandarin language. It does exactly the same using a different Mac computer elsewhere.
I have viewed my lloyds bank statement as a PDF through an iPad and it works fine. What could be the problem with Mac Books?
Please help.
No chinese there, just gibberish latin characters. No idea what might cause this, best tell the bank its not working.
Here is a snapshot of what my bank statement looks like when it opens in preview on my MacBook air. The same happens when viewing on another mac pc elsewhere. This doesn't on my iPad. Any advice on how to resolve issue on my Mac book air would be appreciated.
I have used Adobe - my bank statement still opens in chinese/mandarin language although I have no issues opening other pdf docs on my mac book. I can open my bank statement on an iPad though.

Maybe time to talk to the bank about it.
It seems unlikely the statement is really in chinese, most likely it is an encoding botch. If you post a screen shot of part of one I could verify.
Try using adobe reader instead of preview
