Can I mix the RAM GB size in iMac 27 (late 2012)?

I want to expand the memory in a 27 inch iMac (late 2012). Current has 2 4 GB cards and 2 empty slots. Do I have to use 4 GB cards or can I add 8GB or 16GB?

Yes you can add a matching pair of 8 or 16GB modules in the two empty slots.
