I am having the same problem!

Recent issue, never noticed this until today. 😟

Have you found a solution?

Several PC users have posted that you now have to use the ALT key in order to be able to select multiple photos. Hold down on the ALT key, and you should be able to select photos as you did previously using the CTL key.

The problem is, it was answered dozens and dozens of times for PC users, NOT Mac users...I, too, am on a Mac and have tried the solution that was posted here. It does NOT work on Macs. No combination of keys seems to work for a Mac. I have 225 photos I want to download to an external drive to make room in my iCloud account. The only way to select multiple photos on the Mac is to hold the command key and select each photo one-by-one, and if you accidentally click outside of a photo, they all become deselected! What a waste of time.I just updated to a paid iCloud account, and as soon as I spend however long it's going to take me to download them to get them out, I am downgrading before I pay a cent. There should be an easy way to select multiple photos, especially on a Mac, an Apple product.

Actually, the question has not been answered b/c I am curious as well. The question she has is similar to my problem and I think that there is no answer (or at least none offered here). Here's the deal: >2,000 photos and I think she (like me) does not want to click 2,000 times. The shift function (on a PC) allows you to click on Pic #1 and then Shift-Click on Pic #2,000 and get all of what's in between. I believe the answer is make sure your stuff doesn't end up on iCloud and use a PC to process photos (I use my husbands computer if I have to work with photos in files that contain >500 pix).

Perhaps, Larry, you might refrain from responding if you do not have helpful input. Anyway, your response was actually a lot more characters than saying "did you try alt-click?" 😉

It hasn't worked for years....although I though I had found a solution.. I think the solution is not consistent....ie...when using accessing icloud from a PC or from a phone....but when on my macbook air....if I go into icloud and try to organize photos....I cannot select a consecutive set of photos.

I wish someone could help.....its been a problem for years.
