My AppleTV stopped accepting my Apple ID password about a month ago. I have reset the password a couple times thinking that i entered it incorrectly or perhaps forgot it. My password is correct (verified both on iPhone and iPad), but Apple TV recognizes it. Therefore, no purchases or updates are happening . Please help!

If you have a model from before 4th generation and have two-factor authentication, then you would need to enter the extra code right after your password on the same line. Be aware that there is also a time limit.

Try a reset of the Apple TV. For someone else on this board that was the solution out of the cycle.
Are you entering it together with your password, no spaces, or are you trying to enter the code separately? It needs to be the former.
First it asks for password to verify. It gets accepted, then asks for the two factor code from my iPhone. When the screen shows me the code screen (six digits to enter), I enter it and then it looks like it's logging me in. Then it kicks me back to the original "enter user name" screen.

Yes, this happens with the two factor authentication, which I immediately enter the authentication code, but after I hit submit, it automatically sends me back to the sign in page (displaying "enter used name" and then asking for password again. I've done this cycle three or four times, but it doesn't allow me into my account. :-(
