'book pro 2007, painfully slow graphics.

Hello, i bought an old Macbook pro 2007, you know, the last model in a classical powerbook shell (i don't get modern design) ~ a year ago, and the perfomance is TERRIBLY slow.

I have blown in him half of his price to install an 120GB SSD, clean it up, including termopaste, but nothing.

I have two OSes, El Capitan, the last available for this model, and windows 7.

The graphics perfomance of Windows is great, the "ideal and beutifully optimised best OS in world" just horribly lags. For example, i have installed an old game of Need For Speed Underground from 2003, and Windows gets ideal 60fps on highest settings, osx - 2-3fps on the most lowest possible, including 480p definition.

It is a diffenntly best and charm os, yes, Apple.

Why is Core 2 duo, which is 2 times faster, then a previous laptop in my collection, ibook g4, reacting slower, than powerpc? Why, Apple?

I have turned off spotliht, if interested.

The problem isn't Apple's. That machine might run Snow Leopard fairly well but not El Capitan. It hasn't the horsepower. Windows won't be much better unless you stick to XP. An SSD won't make the computer faster it will only improve performance when loading or saving files. OS X requires at least 4GBs of RAM for decent operation and a much better GPU than your model has. If you want speed, buy a new computer.

Sorry, if i was rude.

The question is - ok, it may be a little bit too old with a 10 year old life.

But why it behaves worse, than a really ancient 1997 pentium 1 thinkpad?

Why ancient games, which were good on my previous Apple laptop with powerpc processor, behave so awfull here?

C'mon, first Duke Nukem from 1996, which horribly lags - 5fps - during the first video.

And let alone games, i can not write music - the reason i bought this machine. The audio in Logic just freezes when i add any good instrument.

Yes, i see you are an Apple worker. I do NOT want to spent my money to a company, who make such a computers with such an awfull lificycle time.

Because on Windows 7 it works flawless. An Asus X55s from the same year 2007 also works flawless on windows 7. Even my Thinkpad 380xd from 1997 with pentium 1 and 16 megs of ram works FASTER! (absolutly no joking). Why i should bring my money to a company with so unreliable product line, which doesnt last even 10 years, whereas another laptops can simply live 20+?
