Error-2-60 when I plug cable to car stereo after ios 11.3 update

My car stereo would play music from my iphone 6 when I plugged the charging cable from the stereo USB. I updated to 11.3 and it now shows Error-2-60 after format reading for about 30 seconds. The Bluetooth however works just fine.I have a pioneer car stereo. Has anyone faced the same problem? I am a new iphone user.

iPhone 6, iOS 11.3

Hi there, Ken!

Thanks for stopping by the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I understand that you're having trouble connecting your iPhone 6 to your car stereo via USB cable since updating the iOS software. I would be happy to help!

Based on what you've described, I would recommend trying the following steps from Get help connecting your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with your car stereo - Apple Support :

If you're using USB Playback

  1. Restart your iOS device and your car.
  2. Connect your iOS device to a different stereo USB port (if you have one).
  3. Try a different Lightning to USB cable.
  4. Update your iOS device.
  5. Install any firmware updates for your car stereo.

Try playing audio from a different app. If you can't play audio from a third-party app, contact the app developer for help. If you can't play audio from an Apple app, contact Apple Support.

Thanks for letting us know you're still having trouble, Ken.

It is recommended as the next step to check for and install any firmware updates for your car stereo system. If you need guidance on how to do that, you can check with your stereo's user manual or reach out to the manufacturer directly. As a starting point, Pioneer has firmware updates available for download on their website here: Firmware | Pioneer Electronics USA .

Cheers.

Thank you Allen A,

I did exactly what you asked me to. It did not work at all. Same effect even after restoring the factory settings. I suspect that my Pioneer stereo firmware isn't compatible with the new iOs, but it worked just fine before I did the iOS update. Regrettably I don't know how to update the firmware on the car stereo 😢. Could it be that the new update has a bug that needs fixing?

Ken
