Iphone wont work in my country

Hello! Im from Argentina and back on March I went to the US. I had a broken iphone 6s so for little money Apple gave me a new one. instead of using it, I thought I could buy an iphone 7 plus and sell my new iphone 6s here. When I came back, the phone (iphone 6s) wouldn’t accept any sim card that wasn’t from an US carrier.


My question was whether I can go to the Apple from the US and request for them to make this iphone 6s compatible with the carriers of MY country. They never told me it was working this way, by the way.

The thing is that the phone doesn’t have a carrier or it’s not specified anywhere so I have no way of knowing which carrier should I contact.

Still, they assured me that the phone they were giving me was going to be an unlocked one. It’s their responsibility, but how can I contact Apple Support. I’m from Argentina so I don’t know if there’s a way.
