12.6.4.3 Syncing apps issue

I have the latest iTunes where it still allows you to transfer your apps to your device from your computer.

Recently, I had to do reinstall Windows. After I installed Windows and installed 12.6.4.3, I ran into syncing issues where iTunes says my computer is not authorized. I subsequently "authorize" it. I get a confirmation message my computer is now authorized. However, I end up in a loop and iTunes won't sync the apps. It just gives me the same messages.

I tried reauthorizing of course, transferring to another computer, but I got the same fail. I wonder if something coincidentally changed and Apple is blocking people from syncing like they did a few years ago when the stopped allowing users to transfer purchases onto their computer. Apparently, the latter even escaped level II Apple support. I can't help if this the case now too, because Apple no longer wants people to sync using iTunes, rather iCloud?

Deauthorizing all computers didn't work. Calling Apple Support has been futile. Level II doesn't know what's going on....just like they didn't know that you couldn't transfer purchases to your iTunes until I showed them them a video and they replicated on their system. Their jaw dropped.

My guess is, in the absence of anyone coming forth, Apple has disabled app syncing with iTunes, wanting people to use iCloud backup only.

iTunes has only been transferring universal 32-bit apps from device into iTunes since the introduction of app thinning back in iOS 9. If your device is running iOS 11 there should be nothing on it, app wise, that qualifies for transfer from device to library. Are you saying transfer of music and video purchases from device to library is broken in 12.6.4.3?

Of course. See Managing apps with iTunes 12.7 or later for my take on the issue at the time.

Sorry not to have got around to this sooner, but I've signed into my system running 12.6.3.6, updated it to 12.6.4.3, deleted a small selection of apps and purchased media, then transferred purchases from an old iPhone 4 where those items still existed. All of the items were transferred into the library by iTunes 12.6.4.3. That's not to say that all apps will transfer, only 32-bit universal packages will, but that has been the case since the release of iOS 9 nearly three years ago.
