Since OS High Sierra 10.13.4 update iMessage will not activate

Am using a MacMini computer. Since the last two OS High Sierra updates I have not been able to access iMessages. The latest update was the OS10.13.4 version. The error message reads, "Could not sign in to iMessage. An error occurred during activation. Try again." Can anyone assist me with this problem? Thank you!

Hi Kappy,

Thank you very much for your response and for your suggestions regarding getting iMessages up and running again. I followed your instructions, but they did not fix the problem I am having with iMessages. I do appreciate your assistance though! Wish Apple would address this issue and find a fix for the problem. Our family relies on iMessages to stay in contact with one another. We've been unable to communicate via iMessages for four months now. 😟
