Exclude a huge virtual machine from iCloud Drive

Hi, I use iCloud Drive to store all the files in my Documents folder.

I have a Parallels virtual machine that's about 40 Gb in size. Parallels recommends it be in the Documents folder.

Whenever I finish using the virtual machine iCloud tries to upload the newly-changed 40 Gb file to iCloud, as it does with every changed file. Good intentions abound.

However, this file can never be uploaded - it's too big - it takes too long.

I want to stop uploading JUST that virtual machine 40 Gb blob, but let iCloud Drive carry on with all my other files just as it has always done.

How do I do that?
