messages not reaching each other

My iPhone 6 on boost (Telstra) network and my mum’s iPhone SE on Vodafone often don’t receive each other’s sms, iMessage or photos. Just randomly. It is extremely frustrating as she regularly looks after my son etc and we miscommunicate because we assume the other has received the messages. Help!

Hey monkeybum

If I understand correctly, you are able to send and receive messages, but on occasion, the other person does not receive them and you do not receive some either. If you send a message, do you ever see a red exclamation mark next to the sent message? Since the feature is working, it sounds like it may be a service or connection issue. While the second article says No Service, if it is a service or connection issue, the second article may help in that instance.
