iPad pro flashing and beeping,

Since I installed the newest OS update 11.3, my iPad pro will do rapid beeping (similar to the chime notification starting repeatedly). The screen will flash between time and battery level and the unlock screen will not stay on long enough for me to log in. I have checked settings, notifications should come continuously, not just when iPad is on. I did a hard restart because it had been updated.

The battery level drops a few percent while this is going on, usually 20 second or so. Not enough to prevent me from using the device but annoying.

Is this from the update? Is this a virus? Can I do anything about this flashing?
