If I purchased an app on my mac, do I need to repurchase it for my iPad? For example, if I purchased notability on my mac, do I need it purchase it again on my iPad?

I checked the 'purchased' section (on my Mac) and "Notability" is not even there. However, it appeared on my iPhone straight away after I downloaded it on the iPad. Reinstall an app I paid for I purchased an app for my son in July 2019 and deleted it off my iPad in October. I would like to reinstall it now but when I go to the App Store it doesn’t recognize that I already purchased it and just need to re-download it. It wants me to pay for it again. Is there a way to download a previously purchased app onto my iPad so I don’t have to buy it again?

Yes, unless the iOS version would normally be free. The developers need to create the versions separately and may choose to charge for both.
