Remove emails from server button no longer available in MacMail

I am on High Sierra. My local email account is configured as POP and I used to be able to select when I want to have emails deleted off the server. That seems to be no longer available. Is there some hidden way to activate that? I do not understand why Apple is always REMOVING functionality or hiding it which amounts to the same thing.

I don't need IMAP for this account. It is used on one device. I like having my emails on my machine, not hanging out in the cloud.

Any thoughts?

iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2017), macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)

Check Mail/Preferences/Accounts/Account Information for that account. There is an option there to remove a copy from the server.
