Sign-in after giving my Apple ID, it wants some kind of touch it show a fingerprint, but I can’t get past that. Is this something new. How do On signing in, and giving my Apple ID, and password, it gives me a verification number, but then asks for some of touch and shows a little fingerprint. I have never done anything like this. It just stops me cold and I have no way to get access. Can anyone tell me how to deal with this?

I want to use my fingerprint instead of the 6-digit number to sign in. I began what I thought was adding just a fingerprint to my iphone and now it looks like I'm mixed up in having to use the 6-digits every time.
