I can get that far. Then it opens an "adobe helper". what is that? I have an adobe account, but it doesn't take my sign in info. the whole thing is really frustrating. Also, I am wondering if it is really worth it to install this flash player. Are there some disadvantages to doing it? Does it use a lot of space?
I do appreciate your help!
OK. glad it worked. As far as your question about necessity of Flash, it's only necessary if you are accessing a video that requires Flash. Most don't as most videos now use HTML 5.
Another thing about using Flash to remember is only to download updates from either the Official Adobe Website or from within System Preferences > Flash Player > Check for updates. There are a lot of phony Flash updates on the web the will pop-up and prompt to update Flash. These contain malware and should be avoided.
Go here and download it:
Thank you. How will I know it has installed? I just get a screen to buy something like photo stock. I don't want that.
I just see a download, but don't see how it can be opened.
That isn't right. There should be no screen for anything except Flash Player.
If you see a download choose it and "Get Info" (command-i). If it is identified as Adobe Flash installer then double click to install.
Believe it or not, I finally got it installed and working. Once again, I appreciate your help!
