boot camp partition to an external drive?

i am picking up a Mac book pro and am currently using an iMac. Is it possible to move my current bootcamp partition to an external drive?(If so please post a good link with directions thanks ) Does anyone run boot camp from an extrernal drive if so how is the performance?

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017), iOS 11.3

When I start the Boot Camp wizard I get an error that an External storage device is attached. I'm aware Boot Camp doesn't natively allow you to use an external USB drive for Boot Camp but I'm looking for help in doing so because I'm sure it is possible somehow. Thanks.

bootcamp I have MacBook Pro with 251gb hard drive. I would like to install bootcamp for windows. Can install the bootcamp on external hard drive and use it from there with my MacBook Pro? I am running Big Sur with M1

Seting up bootcamp on MBP 2013 ? Hi, I have a late 2013 MBP with Quad core Intel i5 and 16gb ram and 1tb SSD. It is a Retina display model. I want to know if I can setup boot camp on this computer ? It so what do I need to do ? What File systems do I need to use ? I want to use 500gb partitions. What Version MacOS operating systems can I use ? I already have macOS Big Sur installed on a 500gb partition. I have the other 500gb partition formatted with exfat. I don't see an option to format the 500gb exfat partition in NTFS. Or do I need to partition the 500gbs in NTFS first and install Windows and then install MacOS after I install Windows ? What is the best MacOS filesystem to use for this dual boot computer ? Thanks in advanced.

Neither Boot Camp nor Windows support what you want to do.

No. Windows will not install on nor boot from an external drive.
