After latest up date on Mac mini, I can't open my email

My main email is Microsoft Entourage.

I get a message that it is verifying blocs, that it is at the 3rd of 5th step. It's been spinning for over 2 hours and it is blocking everything connected to the wifi in the house.

Will it ever return to normal? I need to get access to my main email.

Can someone advise

Suddenly cannot get email from Google through Mac Mail I use Apple Mail for my email activity and use it to access my Gmail accounts.
