“The message was deleted”

Whenever i type “The message was deleted” on whatsapp keyboard it has two underscore; one at beginning and one at end. Is this a glitch? User uploaded file

Happens in whatsapp only; when i type the text and after that hit select all and turn it into italics then the underscore pops up. “This message was deleted” appears when a user on whatsapp deletes the message using “Delete for all”.

Nothing wrong with the keyboard, i have four keyboards.

You try typing it on whatsapp; if you are using and then let me know what happens.

Thanks for reply.User uploaded file

1. Does it happen on WhatsApp app only? Try sending the text in Message app.

2. What exactly do you type and at what point it adds two underscore?

3. Send the screenshot of number of keyboards you have on your iPhone. Settings > General > Keyboards > Keyboards.

4. Check if you have any text replacement enabled for this type of text. Go to Settings > General > Keyboards > Text Replacement.

This is what i got from whatsapp support.

Hi,

Thanks for your message.

WhatsApp gives you the ability to format your text.

To change the format of your text, place your text between these characters:

Bold: *text* Italic: _text_ Strikethrough: ~text~ Monospace: ```text```

For Android - tap and hold the text you're typing > More > and choose among bold, italic, strikethrough and monospace. Note: Some phones don't support this feature.

For iPhone - tap and hold the text you're typing > choose Select and tap BIU button > then choose among bold, italic, strikethrough and monospace.

If you are not able to add formatting, please update to the latest version of WhatsApp.
