logic pro 9 high sierra

So My Logic Pro9 has stopped working under the new high sierra upgrade.

Apple tell me afterwards that Logic pro9 is now obsolete and that I need to upgrade to pro 10 at the cost of £200!!!

Is this a common issue?

Also has anybody else also had the record of the original pro9 purchase deleted?

Also if I upgrade reluctantly to pro10, how long will it be before pro 11 is released and pro 10 obsolete?

Its bad enough the corporations bleeding the musicians dry via streaming without crushing our creativity???
