What are the proper steps to export 5.1 from FCPX?

What are the proper steps to export a 5.1 mix out of FCPX?

I have 6 pro finished wav files and I'm struggling to find the proper export settings, not just in FCPX but Compressor as well. My destination format is prores422 for a screening event.

Final Cut Pro X, macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)

Hi

1. Compressor 4.4 (note that 4.4.1 has a bug not allowing to map 5.1 files) go to File>new surround sound group and assign your 6 wav files according the channel layout

2. Click add

3. check inspector and process batch

In FCP-X import created 5.1 file, change project settings to surround, an add the file into the timeline

With this project setting exporting a masterfile will automatically create a QT movie with 5.1 surround sound..

good luck
