Unable to open .zip file: Error 63 File name too long

This file was created on my old MacBook Pro. I used Migration Assistant to transfer data from my old MacBook Pro to my new MacBook Pro. When I try to open the file I receive "Unable to open <file name>.zip. Error 63 - File name too long". Not sure how to get around this. Any help?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), Mac OS X (10.7.5), Using Mac OS X 10.13.4 not in list

It isn't the zip file name that it is complaining about, it is the combination of path and filename length internal to the zip that may have exceeded the maximum 1024 byte path, and 255 character filename limit.

Try the following in the Terminal on your zipfile. It will only list the path and filenames of each zip item, unless the .zip file is damaged:

$ zipinfo -2 your_zipfile.zip

# see the zipinfo man page

$ man -t zipinfo | open -f -a Preview
