Not all albums are showing up in iTunes on my iPhone even though they are there.

Most of my music library is composed of cd's that I have loaded into iTunes myself.

The problem I'm having is that some albums do not show up on my iPhone 8 when I try to look them up by album or by artist, but when I look up a particular song from that album, it is there with the album artwork intact.

I can't figure out why this is happening and what to do about it.

Hello pablocruze,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that you are unable to locate synced music by artist or album name on your iPhone 8. I would be happy to help provide some troubleshooting steps to try for this issue.

The first step would be using iTunes on your Mac to check if any of the music is part of a compilation:

Combine your songs into albums in iTunes - Apple Support

In iTunes on your Mac, right click on one of the songs you are unable to locate by artist or album name, then select Song Info. If the song does not display the album or artist name as expected, follow the steps here:

Assign songs a primary album artist name

If albums have songs by multiple album artists, iTunes might list the songs in separate albums. To assign a primary artist name for an album that includes songs by several artists, follow these steps:

  1. Select all of the songs that should have the same album artist.
  2. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen or at the top of the iTunes window, choose Edit > Get Info.
If the message "Are you sure you want to edit information for multiple items?" appears, click Edit Items.
  3. In the box next to "album artist," type the album artist that you want all of the songs to have.
To note the original album artist for a song, you can type it in the "comments" field. To view the "comments" field, select a song and choose Edit > Get Info.
  4. Click OK.

If the album and artist info displays as it should, try removing then syncing an album to your iPhone 8 again:

Manually manage content on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iTunes - Apple Support

Let us know if the behavior still persists after trying those steps.

Cheers!
