Emojis are not working in Final Cut Pro X

I have an Macbook Pro from early 2015, and it's running 10.13.4. Final Cut Pro version, 10.4 Recently I have been trying to add emojis (the ones from special characters) into Final Cut Pro and it isn't adding anything. It works in pages, text-edit, iMovie and everything else except for Final Cut Pro. I really am getting frustrated, because it works everywhere else except Final Cut Pro.

Whenever I try to add an emoji it just doesn't add anything to the text field. The only time it does is when it is a heart emoji, it will then show a white heart, not an emoji form, but very pixelated. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I tried a copy paste into a Basic Title and got this:

Seems to work. Maybe it doesn't like 3D, I used 2D.

Can you step by step what you are trying?
