A recent annoyance has popped up. YouTube videos replay themselves when they shouldn't. When I play a YouTube video to the end the video will restart from the beginning when clicking another tab in Safari. Is this a YouTube issue or a Safari issue?

I documented the problem by creating this video:

Part of trying another browser is a test to see if the same thing happens. That might help isolate it to being a Safari problem or a system wide problem.
To reinstall Safari, you would need to reinstall the OS.
For the YouTube problem, try another browser as a test to see if it does the same thing.
Firefox 10.9 or higher

Perhaps deleting all data might work. Safari --> Preferences... --> Privacy --> Manage Website Data...
The other browsers have no issues like this - so, it seems like a Safari problem. It might be a good idea to install the operating system from scratch and reload all data manually (documents, media, etc.). I have another issue where Time Machine doesn't have the ability to backup passwords (serious pain). Maybe installing everything from scratch would fix both issues - and possibly any other weirdness lurking. Not that my system behaves funky or is slow or anything like that. All else seems fine.
That is something to try. Cookies can become corrupt.
That is where cookies are stored. Did you try another browser?
I still have this problem. I wonder if re-installing Safari would do the trick. Anyone know how to do that?
I deleted all data - but the problem persists. Not sure if data is synonymous with cookies.
I suppose I could stop using Safari =/
