Why is Mac better than PC?

Why do you think that Mac is better than PC?

You can always go the creative route and show a 30 second commercial (good talking points on the page) as a prelude to the ensuing 90 seconds. Might lighten things up a bit.

Plus, you'll be demonstrating to everyone, including your teacher, the power of Apple's guidance to "think different". User uploaded file

I want to share a good quote that contradicts what I have seen many times in YouTube comments; "People that use Macs are just dumb and don't know how to use a computer."
Well, recently I have switched a friend, and he bought an iMac. A few months later his mother's Windows laptop broke (Missing DLLs, Go figure :D) She bought a MacBook Pro. Here is what she had to say: "Computers should be easy. It doesn't make sense for people to say that only stupid people use Macs. Am I dumb? No. I may be lazy... but it doesn't make any sense to say that it should be hard to use a computer."

I couldn't agree more!

Jamie Green:

Originally PCs ran MS-DOS and adopted Windows when the ease of use of Macintosh computers made them marketable to rank and file people. Windows was intended to provide a Mac-type interface for PCs (not quite successfully, in my mind), but the motivation was marketability. If PCs were more user friendly then they could sell more computers with Windows as a graphic user interface. To equate user friendliness with being lazy would seem to indicate that PC users who run the imitation Mac graphic user interface Windows are no less lazy than Mac users. On the contrary, the fact that as a GUI Windows is less user friendly than Mac OS is not an indication that Mac users are lazy as much as Windows users don't know enough to get a Mac.

Good luck.

Thank you everybody for the great help. I held my speech on monday and it was a succes I think. The other people in my class said it was really good. I think the teacher was pleased too.

This is just another reason why I love Apple and Mac, its like a community, we Mac-ers stick together.

I couldn't have done it without you, so once again thank you all very much.

GUIs are subjective. Let me get that out there.

I'm a windows user (Oh noes!), and have been since I was little. However, I won't let a person (extreme) bias stilt my facts.

Macs are simple, yes. They have far less of a learning curve than a PC does. However, I easily picked up my old Windows 95 at the age of 6. I don't personally understand how much more user friendly anyone could possibly need.

Also, while GUIs might be 'better' on a Mac, graphics capabilities are equal now on both a Mac and a PC.

And one more thing: I don't think I can name anything you can do on a Mac that you can't do on a Windows. Or, vica versa!

(Not counting gaming, of course.)

it depends...If you use it just for Internet I would prefer pc....I own a mac and I have had problems in the access of some pages because I can`t open them well and I have to use an old version of msn, because everything has to be compatible with mac and the mayority of programs are compatible with pc. Altought You don`t have problems with virus as an advantage.

Mac isn't better than PC.

I have had 2 ibooks a g3 and g4 they both got to 2 years old and logic boards died. Apple basically said "tough luck." I now bought a nice HP with Vista and basically don't notice the difference in performance - especially because the OS seems copied off Apple. I did notice the difference in price - around 60% of the cost of a MacBook for 140% better spec.

VIRUSES? Almost unheard of on a MAC.

MACS have superior graphic programs

MACS are much more organized for the "computer illiterate" like me.

DRAG AND DROP within most applications.

There''s so much you can teach yourself about a MAC.

I was 'brought' into the MAC world by my husband who is a graphic artist and there's no using anything else for that, but I've used Windows platform and he MAC platform. There's no comparison, even though MACs are more expensive. Another writer spoke to their resale; they have good resale value where often, there's minimal resale of a Windows PC.

I remember some years ago, when most of my computer usage was playing games, many of the software games purchased were "hybrid" (i.e. would run under Windows or Mac). I was using a Quadra 650 and later a PPC G3. On the documentation that described the install procedure, I recall that the Windows instructions were quite involved (many steps), however the Mac went something like, "insert the disk, double click the installer". I believe this alone speaks for the simplicity of the Mac OS. Nowadays I seldom play games. I use my Macs for many different things. I use a Windows machine on my job, (that's all they have), we are running XP & 98. I'm not really great with technical discussions, suffice it to say that the Macs just have a better "feel", seem more intuitive, and less prone to application slowdowns or locking up. Just my 2 cents worth.
