Please read if audio from your screen recording isn't saved

I've noticed that half of the time, the audio from my screen recordings was not being saved. I already knew apps like Netflix and Xfinity Stream prevented full video recording, but because my videos were successfully captured, just without sound, I did not think there was a correlation… until now.

At first, I figured it was just a bug. One second videos have audio and the next they don't. And then I see so many people complaining about it too. But today, I noticed something I hadn't before: all of my videos that have no audio are from the same places. All of the videos I've recorded from YouTube, for example, have their audio. But when I try a site like DailyMotion, there isn't any. So after testing a few videos, restarting my phone and trying a few more, I realize, it's not a bug; it's the app/website itself. DailyMotion, like many other sites and apps, are allowing us to record them, but restricting internal audio recording.

A few Google searches led me to the Developers Community. The way we question why the screen recording feature isn't working, app developers are questioning how to PREVENT IT!!! Even developers of apps without video to view are upset with this new feature. Apparently, iOS 11 has a value built in that indicates whether or not the screen is being recorded or mirrored. Developers in turn are cracking down on this new feature by building parameters to either stop playback of the media, stop the video recording, block the internal audio recording, or allow both audio and video recording, but prevent it from being played on another device, should you decide to share the recording.
